A backup only counts if you can restore it.
Plenty of sites have a backup setting nobody has tested, or backups stored on the same server as the site. When that server has a problem, the backups go with it.

Foundation care includes daily off-site backups with restores. For sites on another host, we can set up backup and recovery on its own or as part of WordPress security care.

How far back can you restore?
That depends on how long backups are kept for your site. We agree on it when we scope the work.
Are restores extra?
On Foundation care, restores are included. For other sites, they’re covered in the scope we agree on.
Do website backups include my email?
Website backups cover your site files and database. Email is handled separately, so ask us about your mailboxes.
